Small update: added Korean names to the White Forest NPC list. You can now also access each generation of the Old-Gen Shiny hunter manual from the side menu bar (desktop) or the top menu (phone).

The Buried Relic turns two years old! Hold on to your seats, because this one will be longer than usual.
The past year has been quite a ride, with some big releases on the web like the Old Shiny Hunter Guide and updates like the level selector for the Dangerous Moves Checker. A lot of work has been put into everything, and there are still many more to come in the future. For starters, I have added two new tools for the 2nd anniversary, the Altering Cave Target Modifier and the Mirage Island Activator! These two projects revolve around editing Generation 3 save files, which is something that I had hoped to bring to the website for quite some time, and hopefully this won't be the last. Make sure to check them out!
On a more personal note, as admin of the Buried Relic, I want to talk about the small hiatus at the beginning of this new year. The end of 2024 and the beginning of 2025 have gone the worst way I could imagine, which I will not mention here as I already did on social media. Getting back to put out this update has helped me to keep my mind clear, but I will probably still need more time to learn to live with this. Just writing this update hasn't been all that easy. There will be more updates in the future, but if things get slow, you will know why.
I hope you all have a great 2025 full of the best RNG outcomes and good luck. Thank you for the support from the day the website opened till this day. Don't forget to tell your loved ones that you love them.

There's a new update for the Dangerous Moves Checker! This is the most needed upgrade for this tool: the ability to search the Pokémon by level range. This will let you check if a Pokémon you are going to hunt in a specific location can be dangerous. For example, Geodude inside Rock Tunnel, in FireRed and LeafGreen, which appears at levels 15-17. A few moves have also been added to the list, like Perish Song or Curse.
As for the lack of updates, I am working on the website as much as possible while also job searching. My sincere apologies if the rhythm of updates is not as constant during this time, but there are still cool things being cooked!

There's a new tool on the web: Emerald Battle Frontier Sets, which will let you easily and quickly check the Pokémon sets of each trainer from the Battle Frontier without having to open multiple browser tabs or Excel tables! Good luck with the Battle Frontier grinding!

It has been a few months since the last update, but for good reason, the biggest Shiny hunting guide has been added to the site: the Old-Gen Shiny Hunting Manual! This guide has been in the works since the beginning of the year. Everything you need to know about Shiny hunting in generations 1 to 5! The guide will be expanded as time goes on, but there are still a lot of things that need to be talked about. The goal of this manual is to be the most complete list of information that any hunter needs. It also includes essential information about Shiny hunting in general, extra information, and other useful tips and tricks.
As for the rest of the site, there will be some small fixes in the meantime, and the Shiny of the Week section will come back to its regular schedule. There will be small additions to some sections, like the Dangerous Moves Checker, and other new content that is being planned right now.

Small update: there are two new affiliates, Stareon's Hideout and Across the Pokémon World. You can find multiple activities in the Stareon's Hideout, like making those smoothie recipes that sound great or maybe even learning basic website coding to make your own site!
Across the Pokémon World is a relatively new website where Pokémon Trainer Peter talks about the Pokémon world, its wonders, and his experiences in it in the form of articles and videos.
Make sure to visit them if you have time!

The Buried Relic turns one year old! It's unbelievable that it has already been a year since launch day. The website has gotten more support than imagined back in January of that year, when everything was still a prototype. Since then, there has been lots of content added, and the ideas keep popping up every day. Currently, the biggest guide on the website is in the works (a 50+ page document so far), which is steadily on its way to completion. The objective of this web is to share as much knowledge as possible, and if it helps at least a single person, it's all worth the effort. Thanks to all who visit the page!

Small update:
The structure of the site has been fixed and upgraded. No visual changes, but an overall more correct code.
When it comes to content, there's a big new guide being cooked ardously. It has a lot of content and requires
a lot of work, but it's steadily on its way. Stay tuned!

Site updates: a new tool has been added:
Battle Pyramid Layout.
An easy way to keep track of the Battle Pyramid floors as you traverse them, along with some extra useful information about the rounds and other tips.
Other updates: The Shadow Pokémon
Transferability list has been updated with the latest Pokémon added in the Indigo Disk DLC.
The Regional Forms guide has also been updated with the new content from the same DLC.

Site updates: a new section, Gen 3 PC Box PLanner, is now available on the site! This tool lets you easily plan your PC storage system boxes to be used as a guide that can be followed subsequently in the generation 3 games. It lets you save any plan you create as an image.

Site updates: a new section, Dangerous moves checker, is now available on the site! This tool will help you easily find any type of dangerous move (for example, explosion and memento) in any Pokémon's moveset and at what level they learn it.

Site updates: the Shadow Pokémon Transferability list has been updated to add the info of the Pokémon shown in the latest Scarlet and Violet trailer (for the DLC "The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero"), shown in a Nintendo Direct (21/06/2023).

Site updates: grab your butterfly nets and straw hats, the National Park field research is here, and its bug catching time! A new guide on the bug catching contest has been added. Stay tuned for more updates in the near future, there's more to come!

Site updates: a new section has been added to the main page: the shiny of the week! Here, a different shiny Pokémon will be showcased every week, along with a few tips on where and how to hunt them (or their preevolutions). This showcase will also show a Poké Ball suggestion to colour match the shiny (remember that this is subjective, and the Poké Ball colours are very limited).

Site updates: after a month of work, the new sections of the Buried Relic are live. These are the Pinball shiny sprites and Pokémon Channel font resources, the Shadow Pokémon Transferability guide, and the Wurmple evolution calculator.
These have taken more work than expected, but are finally available for everyone. Keep an eye for future updates!.

Site updates: Some of the content in the website (as well as parts of the layout) have been updated. Some minor spelling mistakes have been corrected as well. There's a new strategy in the shadow Raikou section of the shiny shadow guide.
